From Wax to Print... Illmatic Reaches New Heights (I didn't think it was possible!)

Michael Eric Dyson has announced that he will be writing a book based on the classic Illmatic album (considering that I read his biography of Marvin Gaye it will most likely be chock full of analysis, interpretation, and critique)

... it should be interesting so I 'm anxious to read it when it hits the shelves

Hmmm. LOL. Reminds of the Tupac Shakur book which was written by someone who'd never even met him. I probably still check out the read though.

I know right!!! I was thinking the same thing about Marvin lol

I'm not the biggest Dyson fan but I'll still give the book a look see only because Nas is my #1 emcee

Not that I'm trying to knock Dyson for doing this, but the intellectual-ization (if that's a word) of Hip-Hop kind of takes the fun out of the music sometimes.

I don't think this book will be in vein, but I mean Illmatic is good as is.
